The Town of Yemassee Municipal Complex will be closed on Monday, January 1, 2018 in observance of New Years Day. We wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year! Notice is hereby given that a Municipal Special Election will be held in Yemassee, SC on February 13th, 2018. The office of one (1) Council Member will be open for election for a two (2) year term. Citizens wishing to file for this position may do so presenting a petition signed with no less than 5% of the registered voters within the town limits of Yemassee and paying the required election fee. Each candidate must file a SC State Ethics Commission Statement of Economic Interests form by using the electronic filing system. The site is http://ethics.sc .gov. The polling place for the election is located at the Yemassee Municipal Complex, 101 Town Circle, Yemassee, SC 29945.
Petition forms may be picked up at the Yemassee Municipal Complex, 101 Town Circle, Yemassee, SC 29945. The filing dates are from 12:00 noon, November 21st, 2017 through December 5th, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
Residents from Hampton and Beaufort Counties desiring to vote in the upcoming election must be registered no later than January 13th, 2018. Only residents from both counties which lives within the town limits of Yemassee will be eligible to vote in this election.

Persons wishing to vote by absentee ballot may do so in person at their County office listed above.
This is a nonpartisan election and no party affiliation shall be on the ballot. The polls shall be opened at 7:00 a.m. and closed at 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.
At 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at the Yemassee Municipal Complex, 101 Town Circle, and the Municipal Election Commission will hold a hearing to determine the validity of all ballots challenged in this election.
